Connecting PNP inductive proximity sensors to BOB
Hello everyone,
I was a passive reader till now and my first post is a problem - I hope nobody minds.
I have a set of motors, drivers and power supplies from wantai-motors, all is wired up and running fine.
But now I'm confronted with the problem of connecting PNP-proximity-sensors (6-36Volt). I'm still pretty bad with
electronics (you see it in the amateurish diagram).
But could anyone say if I did something wrong? I'm so unsure about the voltage divider. I planned to supply the sensor
with 12 Volts and then break up the voltage and current to be a logical 5V for my breakoutboard - but does it work that way?
I don't want to fry something.
Can somebody help me out before I try it?

Many thanks

Re: Connecting PNP inductive proximity sensors to BOB
If the inputs are opto isolators with a internal series resistor set for 5v operation, you could simple measure the current the opto is set for by inputing 5vdc and measure the current, then wire a suitably calculated resistor in series from the collector to input based on the difference ~7v or just under.
Assuming open collector prox.
