Hitachi WJ200 + 400Hz spindle + resistor braking: anyone got it working?
Hello - I've got a Hitachi WJ200 hooked up with a 2.2kw Chinese spindle and I just added a 200W, 50 ohm braking resistor that I can't get to work right yet.
The problem seems to be with setting A052, which sets the DC braking frequency. This setting maxes out at 60Hz, but my spindle operates at 400Hz. Setting A052 to 60Hz does allow for braking once the spins down to 60Hz, but that can't be right.
Has anyone gotten this combination working together that could share the relevant settings?
Thanks,
Kent

sure people have those working. you are messing in wrong area - a52 is for dc injection braking - not db.
since u can go to as low as 35ohm on resistor on that model you are ok at 50ohm.
just set the right parameters; default is no db working.... it is B090 & b091

That did it! Thanks for your help. I set B090 to 10 and F003 to a one second deceleration. No heat on the resistor that I can tell. So far that is working pretty well so I don't want to push it further.

glad to help.... I have NEVER installed a vfd w/o setting it to use 100% DB capability.... interesting thought to limit it to 10% if you can....
