BobCad Cam V27 Anyone know what improvements will be included?

Anyone hear of any improvements coming in Bobcad Cam V27?

Hello MTBBasstit,

What kind of features would you like to see added to the V27?

Like to see the CAD overhauled,especially your "filleter"More dang time doing fillets than doing the whole solid model.

CAM is pretty darn good,still trying to learn it all.

Hello Al Just so you know-- I am a devoted Bobcad user-- I really like the software -- there are a few things that get us all crazy that I am hoping will be addressed in an update of V26 or in V27
I would like to see : In Cad:
The ability to use Multi core processors more effectively without slow down while calculating. There is no reason for freeze ups when you have a six core processor--I've monitored my processor and when BC V26 is calculating there are never more than 2 of 6 core processors being used. ( computer AMD FX 6 core 3.5 ghz each core--8 Gigs Ram --64 bit-windows 7- 240GB SATA-3 Solid state hard drive -PCi express 2.0 Graphics Card... )
Fillets really need improvement-- most of my support time was used figuring out why fillets would not work--others have better fillets--so I know it can be done
Skinning solids--another super problematic line segment alignment based headache-- this should probably be pixel (nerb) based instead--again others do it better....
The appearance of duplicate line segments without reason-- this can drive you crazy and it doesn't always clean up when you optimize your drawing in "Reorganize"

In Cam: Lolipop cutters in all operations--and the use of the top of the ball cutter represented at the shank.--

I am sure there is more-- these are the stand outs I have issues with.
Thanks for asking for input--It shows your devoted to your product --I also have to say BobCad has the best customer service I've ever experienced in any industry.

okay for real..here is what i would like to see in V27....

I would like to see something similar to what MC has when you chose analyze geometry. The ability to change all geometry on the screen such as hole sizes ect by just choosing what you want and changing the numbers in a side box that pops up instead of having to click on each piece of geo like we do now and have to choose modify entity.

a plugin for us digitizing arm users or the ability for it to work direct with V27

history based cad

machine time estimator in simulation like V25 has

ability to turn off seats and turn on without having to call in when changing computers. Say if i had one seat and needed to put on my laptop for the weekend...i could do so with ease and then put back on my desktop on monday.

material/cost estimater like Solid Works has...that would be cool !

I ,at first thought not the biggest deal,NOW,after a few months without it,it is badly missed.
This should even be fixable via an update ??

Pipe Mill Thread would be nice, I think it should of been added in V26.

A Little API access to some of the UI (Maybe toolbars and programmable buttons to start)......

Gather all settings from mac file and anything stored in reg and create a saved file method that can be loaded for custom sets.........

A rebuild command for geometry that will take segmented tangential geometry and combine into a single entity...And also give the ability to add/remove control points to spline geometry....

Make BobArt 3d! :eek:

Free upgrades if you purchased the previous version in last 6 months before new version comes out.

A work around for machine time in the simulate window. Goto statistics scroll down to sequence and it will be under total machine time.

Drag your tab across each tool in the progress bar and in statistics it also gives each tool time.

Like get everybody using it and liking it and then take it away in V26 but leave the button there. That's like leaving the deck lid on the new year model car, it looks like its there but its bolted shut, I never did try it before I bought car. I guess that was stupid of me or pretty sad of the car manufacture.
