USB Wireless Connection for Tormach Machine Controller
All,
I have the Tormach performance machine controller, PN 31520, running the OEM operating system software. I'm interested in attaching it to the home network so I can eliminate the need to access the USB port to transfer .NC files to the machine controller. I'd rather not wire a network cable to the router because of the distance it has to cover, so I'm looking at wireless adapters. The USB adapters are particularly interesting because I can install it without opening the case.
Has anyone used a wireless USB adapter, similar to these?
Newegg.com - Rosewill RNX-MiniN1 (RWLD-110001) Wireless-N 2.0 Dongle
Newegg.com - Rosewill RNX-N180UBE Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 1T2R / 5 dBi External Antenna
Thanks.

Check out the Edimax EW-7811UnR2 and/or EW-7811Un I'm going to be trying both of them.

Holy ancient thread restoration, batman!
Tormach sells an 802.11n usb wireless adaptor for $15.50:
34705 - Wireless Network Adapter for PathPilot
Note this is for use with Path Pilot, as Tormach strongly recommends not using a USB wifi adaptor with mach3.

What is the app and what model is your phone?

Netgear has one on Android (WiFi Analytics) and I suppose that most of the major players have apps. A search on Play Store or ITunes ought to turn them up.

I use a Netgear WN2000RPT Universal WiFi Range Extender Extender that I got off ebay for $25 and then go wired into the PC. Lets me put the antenna anywhere even up high as the shop is a ways from the house.
Plus, since it's ethernet, there is less overhead than USB, it will work with any computer and no special drivers loaded. All computers (even PathPilot) talk ethernet. This one even has four eithernet ports so I can plug in a laptop and printer out there as well.
