down arrow and speed decrease huanyang vfd
Hey G'day people,
Need some help with PD setting for decreasing speed using down arrow..
I can increase the speed of my spindle using the up arrow which I know adjusts pd003..
eg If pd003 is set at 100 when I run I can increase speed np works as intended...
Problem is when I want to decrease speed using the down arrow the numbers adjust eg from 300 to 100 but there is no decrease in speed :(.. I need to stop the vfd hit run and it will pick up from the speed I set.
which pd setting do I need to adjust so I can decrease speed on the fly not just increase the speed Please :)....
Ive been at this now for days and lots of hours.... sigh.... got most of it nutted out this is the last bit I need so I can get out of the garage and have a beer in peace.
Thanks in advance for all assistance...
Steve

I'm not familiar with HY01D523B. I was looking it up online and found it on Amazon for $220. I do not know why people don't look at more common brand name drives that would be similarly priced. My preferred brand names include ABB, AC Tech/Lenze, Hitachi, FUJI, Yaskawa, Vacon, Toshiba, Baldor, Danfoss, Motortronics, SEW etc.
If you take a look at AC Tech/Lenze ESV152N02YXB you would find that it is similarly priced drive that would accept either single phase or 3-phase input.
I do not know if HY01D523B has any special features. If it doesn't I think ESV152N02YXB would be a better choice and it is made in the US.

Without pushing your luck, try reducing PD011 to 100 from 120 to see if this has some effect.
I think this is the minimum speed (frequency) 2 poles @ 100 = 6000RPM, if my mental arithmetic is still working.
If the minimum speed is set too low, it is possible to cook some motors, as the frequency is too low, for the inductance of the motor, causing too much heating.
If you keep increasing the speed, once above this speed the down button should reduce speed back to this minimum value.
For 2 pole, 120Hz is 7200RPM.

That is correct as for the 100Hz =6000rpm, some of these drives survive at 100 Hz but they are best kept at a min of 120Hz for this VFD, it's not only the motor, that is affected in this case, these VFD drives are the weak link
