unreliable y axis
Ok I finally get my router going about 3 weeks ago everything works great. Did some test cuts works awesome. Yesterday I was cutting a grid pattern on my table the program is going good the next thing I know the y-axis goes in reverse crashing into the end so I stopped the program and tried to jog back to where it was supposed to be and the axis wants to run backwards. I can jog it and sometimes it goes the correct direction then the next time it goes backwards or just buzzes like it is up against a stop and won't move. The question is is it a motor problem or a drive problem. I am using Kelling 40 volt drives with 24 volt ps. 270 oz. steppers under mach3.
Thanks Bruce

Re: unreliable y axis
Could be a loose direction wire, or a computer problem.
Measure the voltage on the direction pin while jogging in both directions. It should be 5V in one direction, and 0V in the other direction.

Re: unreliable y axis
Well I tried to trouble shoot my y axis I had a gecko 540 that I had for another project and I hooked it up and replaced the stepper motor and it works awesome.
Thanks for the help
