When we run castings and plastic the screen in the machine and in the back clog up bad cant even get thru a 30 min part? These machines seem to have a terrible design for coolant. Any one have any ideas? Thinking about making a box with holes to screw into top of screen in machine?
Try adding a screen across the width of the tank at an angle in side the primary side of the tank. That way it will take alot longer between cleanings.
The screen in the back is way small compared to one the width of the tank.
I think you would not be happy with the box idea as it to would clog rather quickly.

I buy furnace filters (paper and spun fiberglass) and put them in a frame I got from McMaster Carr. Get the size that just covers the intake area on the sump. 99% of the junk that gets thru the return gets caught in the 25 cent filter. Just change the filter every morning before you start running. My sump stays clean......never a problem and all for about 25 cents a day.
