4'x4' cnc plasma table - first build with questions
This is my first time posting to any forum but, I have read many posts from here and have gathered a lot of good information. I hope I can get some good responses, learn a lot and share some information as well. I am getting ready to build a 4'x4' cnc plasma table. I am going to build one instead of buy one for a couple reasons. First I can save money going this route and second, I want to learn as much as I can from this project. I have all the equipment I need (two mills, one cnc, lathe, band saw, torch, welder) to do this so that will be a big help. I chose this size because I am limited on space but, I can still buy 4'x8' sheets and utilize it all. I am going to purchase a Hypertherm Powermax 45 plasma cutter and as for the electronics components I will be contacting CandCNC. All the steel for the frame and water table will be purchased from a local supplier and I have come across several suppliers on the internet for V Rollers and track. Right now I am struggling with finding a good place to purchase the rack and pinion components. I know there are some other components such as reduction gears and belts that I will need as well. I am open to any ideas so please share your thoughts. I would also like to share my thoughts and Ideas with anybody that is interested. This probably won't be a speedy process so please bear with me.

Re: 4'x4' cnc plasma table - first build with questions
Hi Bobby,
Sounds like our builds are going to be very similar, except I opted for ordering a gantry from Precision Plasma rather than try to fab that part up myself. I did this mainly because I was afraid that would be the most time consuming part (and I didn't feel I had the knowledge to do it), so I opted for the plug-and-play method. For what it's worth, it appears to be a very solid piece and although my table is not yet operational, I have nothing but good things to say about Ron @ PPLLC and his product.
Good luck with your build, I'll be following it. I'm most interested in seeing how you tackle the water table as that's the part of the design that I'm struggling with at the moment.

Moore Gear Website
I have stock rack and can either source the pinions or point you in the right direction. Many DIYers use Moore Gear rack, so feel free to ask around.

Chris..I built my table as a water table..what kind of questions do you have?
Re: 4'x4' cnc plasma table - first build with questions
Appreciate the offer to help, repauli1...but I actually just finished it up over the holiday weekend. I was just over thinking it while designing things in AutoCAD. When it came time to cut the metal and weld it all up, it came together nicely. Last night I hooked up and started tuning the motors. Made lots of progress since I finally got to see the gantry move under it's own power!
Re: 4'x4' cnc plasma table - first build with questions
I would like feedback on the Gantry, looking to build a bigger table, and that has caught my attention several times/
Re: 4'x4' cnc plasma table - first build with questions
Sure, do you have any specific questions on it, or are you just looking for general feedback and thoughts so far? Keep in mind I just saw it move for the first time last night, so I haven't been able to actually use it yet.

Hello guys,
I made plasma table using CANDCNC ESPII 5 axis Blade Runner. I have tested all motor individually, all move. I plan to use with Hypertherm Powermax 65, Now, I need a sample program using flame while waiting for PM 65, can somebody here give me the sample program and give me instruction how to run it. Thanks in advance.

I can not generate gcode. I got something wrong with my sheetcam, that;s why I need a program that work.
