CNCDrive AC servo driver powering brushless motors?
I was looking at these drivers and they have the same pinout required by my brushless motors.

I emailed the company but have not heard back (its been a week). By looking at the pdf manual I could swear they were meant for brushless servos. Can someone with more experience take a look and tell me if im on the right track?

They are intended for 3ph AC servo's, drives such as A-M-C Copley and Aerotech will run a DC brushed on their BLDC drives.

My brushless servos are 3ph as well.

There is a subtle difference between AC servo and BLDC, the motor are practically identical, just the means of commutation is different, both brushless..

Right. DC uses square wave from the hall sensors and AC uses a sine wave? Is there a sure way to tell them apart? Mine are 170V, 18A, 3000W. This seems incredibly powerful for a NEMA 34 motor around 5" long. Here's some pics, including the standard A,B,Z incremental encoder on the back.

What kind of driver would be appropriate for such a motor?

Drive you picked will work fine. Realized at 50 volts you will only get 1/4 top speed from your motor

it does 6 step commutation and that matches the motor design MCG built (sold to ametek then discontinued). But sine commutation will work too.
so why not buy a drive for $ 200 that plugs into 120vac and does it all and gives you full speed?

I cant find a drive that matches these perfectly. Im sure I could buy a brand new drive that would do just that but im a "used and ebay" sorta guy (low budget).
