New FSL machine, need help with output

My company picked up a 90 watt 36x24 w/2" lens FSL machine. We're trying to engrave some material from rowmark but having trouble with the edge detail. I can't tell if the machine is simply TOO powerful for such light-duty material or if our beam is just out of focus? I've uploaded some images which show a series of trials with power (P column) and speed (S column) settings. I believe these were at 500dpi. Upping to 1000 dpi in later yielded only slightly better results.
