DC-AIO PLC machine Parm #35 what should it be set to?
Sorry guys- Trying to do the Spindle testing. Last item before final config. I am not sure what the value should be for Machine Parm #35. Spindle Axis? I did not record the default when I set it to 0. I assume the spindle axis is spindle 1. Change from a 0 to a 1 for a Mill?? TIA,
CG.
Re: DC-AIO PLC machine Parm #35 what should it be set to?
Also, I'm wondering if I need to do something on my DC-AIO for the Spindle speed & spindle encoder count? While I have a VFD wired in, there are some settings for the Spindle encoder count? (34 in machine parm) . I'm not sure if the VFD will know the spindle RPM or if I needed to setup a index pulse of sometype? figured I would ask here and I'll hit more of the manuals later.
Re: DC-AIO PLC machine Parm #35 what should it be set to?
UPDATE- So I set it to 1 and the X axis motor would not work. Tried as 6. Same as in the manual image. I get a spindle fault error on start up w/ that. ??? So I dunno. Still working on the Hunyang VFD as well... :-) long day chasing gremlins ;-)
Re: DC-AIO PLC machine Parm #35 what should it be set to?
Assuming your machine is a basic milling machine, it probably does not have, and probably does not need, a spindle encoder.
Spindle encoders are used on machines with tool changers when the tool change sequence requires spindle orientation. A spindle encoder can also be used to support rigid tapping. No spindle encoder is needed for floating (tension/compression) tapping.
If you have no spindle encoder installed, then you should set Parameter 35 = 0.

Perfect, thanks. Makes total sense! As this is all so new, I get the tests first and the lesson's later on. Life of a new Centroidian.
