Well I sold my other machine to help with our purchase of our first house :-( I guess it was worth it lol. Anyways the machine is 3'x3' smaller then my other machine but should make it more rigid of a machine. Anyways check it out, I've added pictures of my Z axis (last two)

The 8020 I used are the beam is there 3060 (3"x6") @ 36" the side and center rails are the 1530 (1.5" x 3") the end frames are 1/2" 6061 aluminum (4"x36") the upright are only 1/2" I went the a thiner upright because, to keep weight down a bit. But I will bolt and support on the outside of them some of the 1530 extrusion this will make rigid and strengthen the uprights alot. I've done the same thing on my first machine I built and it cut aluminum very well and wood well it ripped throught that no problem.Quote:

Well another update [emoji106][emoji106] waiting on a few more parts to come in, they where shipped just have to wait :-( getting a little closer, can't wait to get it all together then let the chips fly [emoji2][emoji2]
Here's another update. I had to change where one of the ballscrew are, but all and all It turned out awesome. What do you think.

How did you manage to attach the linear rails to the gantry ??? The channels matched with both sides of pre drilled holes on the rails ??
Sorry are you asking where I live. If so I'm in Ontario. The linear rail line and bolt right up to the 3060 (3"x6") extrusion. I used TBR20mm rails and bearings, that's the ones that bolt/line up to the 8020 extrusion slots.Quote:

Here's a little update; I've had this THK kr33 actuator for a while and figured this would be the faster way to get up and running. I plan on making a new Z axis with square profile rails. The Z isn't mounted yet it's just on with one bolt, still need to drill and tap 4 holes. I have some THK SHS25 rails and bearing coming for the bottom axis. I will also change out the cross axis with either 20-25 profile rails. Here a few pics, I've figured out how to mount the ballscrews that came to short.

I had some time today, I changed out the TBR rails and bearing. Wow these THK SHS25 sure made things are a lot more rigid now. I've included a few pic's.
