At the limit!
I shutdown PP with my Y-axis at the limit switch. Upon restart I get "Y axis limit switch active" and RESET is flashing red. This is correct but if I click RESET I get the same message again so I can't jog the Y or reference Y to fix the problem. What do I do?

Re: At the limit!
You can turn off the limits temporarily in the settings.

Re: At the limit!
I tried that but it doesn't appear to let me reset/

Re: At the limit!
What version of PP do you have? 1.7.2 solved the problem of not being able to jog off the limit if you started up at it.

Re: At the limit!
I installed 1.7.2 earlier today so I guess that the problem is not quite fixed.

Re: At the limit!
Make sure you post the bug on the PP bug reporting page.

Re: At the limit!
After much futzing about on Sunday I removed the limit switch bracket. This allowed me to move the table and get back to work. The problem occurred when booting on the limit switch. If you hit the limit switch after power up things work as with Mach. I'll see if I can reproduce it tomorrow.

Re: At the limit!
Expect this to be an ongoing issue- there is no way you can write a software for such a limited market and have sufficient resources to fully de-bug it. Microsoft has untold numbers of the best software engineers in the world and still came out with Vista. Tormach will have to rely on their customers to do the de-bugging.

Re: At the limit!
It is probably bad form to reply to my own thread but...
I tried to reproduce the problem this afternoon and it appears that I was mistaken. My excuse is that repeated error messages such as "Y axis limit switch active", "Command cannot be executed unless machine is powered on and the control software is out of RESET condition" and "Must take machine out of estop before jogging" for each attempt to move the table confused me. If you click on "Reset" you can actually move the table slightly (by 0.01-inch?) for each mouse click. My apology for any confused caused.

Re: At the limit!
Good to know that works.... the error display could use some cleanup IMO.
