well, did manage to get a bit more work done on the mill and enclosure..
had a lot of help from a good friend of mine, 2 guys can easily lift and move the mill around.. i don't understand all the engine hoists and special rigging people do :P
decided to mount the mill on hockey pucks and use silicone sealant to make it ready for flood coolant in the future..
now it is easy to clean under the mill and it is mounted in a way that is perfect in absorbing vibrations and shocks without making it soft..
only the finest pucks from biltema! made in the czech republic.. not china! go figure..

could not source a 19 leed cable with 4 0,75/1,5mm2 cables and the rest 0,5mm2... so i made my own :)

so the next problem now is the chinese bldc motor..¨
the cable they used is LOW grade shealded, and not made for having a cable coming out of it.. (basicly it is just a hole in the side of the motor with a cable sticking out..
so my plan is to glue a connection box on the side of the motor and using that to run a ølflex (high flex, shielded, flexible industrial cable) back to the main cabinet.

(connection box is going to be over the original cable, making the box the sealing part over the cable, using PG nippels going from there. basicly same system as a normal asynchronous motor)

well.. it is alive, although on a semi prototype stage..
the main cabinet is done, all the cables is terminated on connectors and everything is in trays..
inside the cabinet is where the prototype area is.. the steppers are connected with wago connectors (temporary as proof of concept)

but it is up and running, and i ran my first G code (without motor and end mill, that is for a later stage) with the mill bolted in place in its cabinet.
so this is a milestone in my project. :cheers:
regarding the BLDC motor and the rebuilding of the cables, my plan worked.
i just need to turn the motor 90 degrees and it should work..
but now i need to find out what to do with the cables for the steppers and the BLDC motor.. since they are constantly moving, what is the best way to wire it all up?
i am thinking jointed flexible cable trays.. the black plastic type you find in machinery that moves.. but i am not sure it would work for the axis.. :S
what do other people use?

Im not so productive as you. Got my mill in 09 and its still a manual mill. But i got most parts to CNC it. I think its gonna happen this summer when i get some time off. I had some time now this easter and i finally got to do "Paula's spindle lock"-mod. Much easier tool changes w/o the spanner ring wrench.

I have just desided to give up the KFlop... :violin:
I am sic and tired of trying to figure out this controller, and i am just not interested in learning C... i just want a industrial like controller, with pre defined inputs and functions that is clearly documented .. and a nice and simple GUI to use on my workshop computer..
The Kflops GUI is ok, but it is not real nice... </rant>

It looks more like a real controller interface and it is keyboard frendly :banana:
and diagnostics is a breeze with I/O readout.
It even has a built in feeds and speeds calculator and engrave/pocket/drill function for fast and simple jobs,
i have not bought it yet, but i am going to! :wee: :D
also i am thinking of getting a ABB drive and a high speed motor and make the spindle spinn!
the Chinese crap is just that, crap.. the motor keeps getting HOT and i have til this time not got it to interface with the current controller i got.
