Turn on flashing beacon via MB3 built in relay when Mach4 is ENABLED
Hi
I want to turn on a 12V LED strobe whenever the ENABLE button is pressed in Mach4 and I was thinking of triggering it via one of the built in relays on the MB3 breakout board.
Can anyone give me any clues on how to determine when the ENABLE button is active and where I could get a signal to switch the relay?
Thanks in advance
Phil

Hi,
easy.
The first pic is the screen editor shot of Mach4's Enable button. Note that the state of the button is reflected in a Mach4 defined signal called "machine Enabled'
Now go to the ESS Config and look in the Output Signals tab, I know its confusing but the ESS considers the Machine Enabled signal as an output signal of Mach4. What you need to do is assign a port and pin
in the ESS PinsConfig tab, presumably the pin that operates the relay on your board, and then attach that pin in the OutputSinals tab.

Hey thanks heaps.
I knew someone would have a simple answer.
I was looking at the screen editor but didn't want to screw it up.
Cheers and again thanks.

Hi,
well the good news is you don't have to touch the editor, I used it only to illustrate that the Enable status id reflected in a Mach4 signal, namely MachineEnabled.
You can use that signal which is logically attached to an ESS output pin, and that in turn to turn a relay on or off as required.
