We have several Doosan's, the lathes that do not have live tooling you can switch gears in the program using M41/M42. The live tooled lathes won't accept M41/M42 and M5 causes them to alarm out. What is the cause of this and how do I correct it?

I think I tried the P11 once before but will try it again. What does the spindle gear button do on the controller if it doesn't have gears? We have a Puma 400 that definitely has gears because I use them everyday I just wish it had neutral. It would make it easier to balance off center work.Quote:

The "P" word is essential. If you wanted to stop the main spindle, it would be "M5 P11."
