Automatic Tool Changer
Hey all, I know this is a subject that comes and goes.
I was gone a while and missed all the stuff about DIY Automatic Tool Changers. I thought I would start a new thread and see how you might be doing with it.
This seems like a really neat addition! I hope I can incorporate one.
Some history that I found:
Here is a link to JLT’s build that caused a lot of excitement but seems to have faded:
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28665
Here is a link to High Tech Systems that makes them, but seems to have gone dead:
http://www.hightechsystemsllc.com/index.htm
Anyone other that JLT have one running? I’ve seen it mentioned a bit in Joe’s section, but can not put my finger on one.
Can you help me out?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi spalm,
I was searching and reading all the threads I could find on ATC's lastnight, here are a few more links you might find interesting:
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27200& - appicnc's ATC
http://www.midwestrapidtool.com/index.htm - This looks very appealing but abit pricey for the DIY/hobby enthusiast.

I think "joe2000che" has that "High Tech Systems" ATC?
Check his threads http://www.cnczone.com/forums/search...induser&u=5702

Look at my 4x4 machine, I just got Hightech's new atc or quick change, it is different from the original one and seems to work better, i am working out the setup, and hopefully design a rack for them to sit in.
Derek at High-Tech is great to work with.

Thanks guys.
I'll check out midwest rapid tool.
Joe, I have been watching that thread. So do you have any Pics of your ATC?
I just tried that link that I had posted earlier to High-Tech. It works from home; it didn’t this afternoon at the office. I guess the Internet Nazis at work are at it again. I’ll browse around his site.
