Noobie questions for a cnc retrofit

I have access to a few old Bridgeport, and old servos w drives. I have done diy build with steppers on plasma and router. Is big stepper an ok choice to run a mill? Or servo would be better.
Diy build with steppers will need a pc, bob ( or ess with bob ), dc power supply, stepper drive, steppers. What do I need to build with servos? Servo has different wiring. Most online videos and tutorial just talk about the difference and advantages of servo. Detail wiring are widely available on steppers but not servo. Could someone help shine a light for me?
