Questions about ramping in

When writing a code for ramping in what are the guidlines to be followed? I am sure there are specified angles when ramping based on cutter (size, flutes, speed, etc.) and the material (aluminum, steel, etc.) that is being ramped into. Also when ramping do you use G01 linear motion and include a Z on the same program line? Or is there a specific G code for ramping like there is a g code for canned cycles when drilling? Any website that you can direct me to with ramping info would be great. Thanks
