Hey,
Pretty new to mastercam. I want to use a pocket to cut this "neck pocket" for my guitar but am having trouble. Boundry doesn't lie in the construction plane. Is it because of the holes?
your help is appreciated.

Most likely it is because at least one of the boundaries you have selected is not parallel to the construction plane.
Looks like you are using Solids and 3-D for selection of boundary.
Is the Face you selected parallel to the construction plane?

I would hope so. the WCS is the top Plane. and the cplane is top also. I have to confirm on the parallel boundary though. I'll check back later tonight.Quote:

PS use solid edge , then also check loop along with Partial loop so you can do an open pocket using the outer edges but not the front of the pocket or the holes.

cadcam, did what you said still giving me the error.
Can you send me the file then I can tell you whats wrong. and I can even share a few of my guitars I had designed for a customer.
Man you are quick. I investigated the model a little more and it isn't parallel two degree compensation. You guy's were right. Apologize for the stupid question. I have been using flow lines for surfacing. What tool path do you have in mind to keep the edges clean. flowline then maybe a contour?
