uncommanded A axis movement when doing 4 axis work.
Benn playing around with meshcam trying yo do some 4 axis carving.
Everything works fine until I pause the program in mach.
When I hit the "Cycle Start" button to resume machining The A axis (rotary) takes off to somewhere instead of holding it's position as it should.
I'm using the Mach 3" post in meshcam..
Any ideas anybody? Thanks!

Do you have the A axis configured as Tangential? Just a guess.
Re: uncommanded A axis movement when doing 4 axis work.
How long of a pause? I noticed when using feedhold if you walk away from the machine for extended period, Mach3 just drops the port access or something like that and can't resume. Maybe that is part of the problem?
Re: uncommanded A axis movement when doing 4 axis work.
I'ts usually the next morning after pausing it for the night. I used to pause stuff all the time on three axis jobs overnight all the time with no probs. I wonder why it's just the A axis? If had a post that added the A command to every line I wonder it that would fix it?
Any idea one how to write a post like that?
Thanks!
