Autocad 2000 Move
I have a flat plate with a bunch of holes that I drew in AutoCad 2000. I then dimensioned all the hole locations. How do I get the dimensions to change when I move a hole location. When I do a MOVE command the hole location moves, but the dimension text stay the same.
Thanks

There may be other ways but if you click on the dim marks and enable the GRIPS click on the end one and EXTend it to the centre of the moved hole. The dims will be updated to the new position.

If the dimensions are in modelspace, use the stretch command instead of move. Then you can drag the dimension with it. If the dimensions are in paper space, you're out of luck unless you use 2002 or later.

Self updating dimensions
When you 'move' the hole or other feature, select the geometry from top right to bottom left and that will move the vertices of each piece of geometry. Be sure to get the grip locations of the dimensions as well. This always works with me. One other thing...make sure that you have associative dimensioning turned on. I have actually worked with folks that thought the dimensions were better unassociated with the geometry. Good luck. Dennymac

Re: Autocad 2000 Move
Try using DIMASO ON command in AutoCAD. That is supposed to associate the dimensions with the objects and update the dimension when the objects are moved.
