Simple ( i hope) cutter comp question
I have a simple cutter comp question. using a g41, why does my machine move in both the X and Y even though there is no X on the comp line? Below is the program that I am running. I have modified this from a Fanuc program. It runs fine except for that. It doesn really hurt anything, but I would rather it didn't do it. It only moves on the Y when it comes off cutter comp.

That's the way that comp works. Comp is applied as the tool moves from the previous position to the position specified in the comp line. This is referred to as a lead-in move. The tool doesn't just move over the comp amount when comp is called.

Gerry got it.
Cut comp is moving from the previous X Y location.
That's why you should have a 'lead-in', 'lead-out' move for cut comp.

I do have a lead in and out. Still don't understand why it moves on 2 axises. Never worked that way on my Fanuc and Yasnac control. So if I ma milling a pices of stock to length, there is no way to get it to just make a comp move on only the X axis?

No, the lead in move will always move on 2 axis.
The Lead-In move in your code is the one with the G41 in it.
