Looking for Syil X4 standard, mach3 config xml.
Hello, I just acquired a 2012 Syil X4 standard with 4th axis and automatic oiler. I am looking for a Mach3 config that's up to date-and working with my machine.
It's unfortunate that Syil doesn't support the x4 anymore, it really isn't that old in machine years.

I need one of these too if anyone comes across it? Can get everything working except for the spindle from software. Otherwise have to manually turn spindle on select direction and set RPM before running code then manually turn it off when done. Is annoying

Hi,
do you not think it worthwhile to update from a parallel port? They were ALWAYS a bit quirky even back when parallel ports were common....but it worse now that they are not common.
There are any number of parallel port driver boards out there, but only a few that strictly adhere to the original IEEE spec and ONLY those will work.

Hi Craig,
You're absolutely right. Parallel ports were indeed quirky back in their heyday, and the situation hasn't improved with their obsolescence. Updating from a parallel port to a more modern interface is definitely worthwhile

Hi,
yep and rub two sticks together to start a fire...

Desktop has windows 7, but the machine is air gapped...
I got the machine working. I had accidently plugged the Z limit switch cable to the wrong plug.
Now however, the spindle is making more noise than I remember and the speed occasionally goes very high and then back down again.
Bad connections on encoder feed?
Should actual RPMs appear on the Mach3 control panel?
How tight should drive belt be? It is a ribbed belt, and I didn't go crazy on the tightness, but maybe it should be looser?
These 120v spindle drive boards are no longer available.
Are there any good ways to replace the spindle control board, while still using the 5 axis board and axis drivers?
Any reasonable options to replace 1100w spindle motor?
Thank you,
Bryan
