Some former coworkers, with a company that folded, aquired one of the Okuma 4-VMCAE mills, that we used, from the auction. When they got it set, and fired it up, a 596b alarm came up. They did not get the alarm code manual (there is one on order).

The alarm says "spindle head cooling" All of the cooling systems are working. Is it just a sensor?

How can I get this alarm cleared?

We have found that it is the spindle head heat sensor relay. They are looking for the diagrams. Any ideas without a diagram?

no need of diagrams. You did diagnostics already. Check connections, and replace the relay in case if connections are good.

We are trying to find the correct relay...it is hard because I a not there until tomorrow. They don't know anything about the machine and I know very little about that end of it.

Hello. I have the same machine and the same alarm . 596 spindlehead cooling unit . You said you replaced a fuse? Any more info on what fuse and location. Thanks! It would help me out big .
