New order Shopmaster and vise question

    Hello,
I have been hanging out for months reading almost every post. I have seen many people's opinions good and bad, I am aware of what I am getting into and work needed to get most from machine. When I get mine I will be sure to start posting including pics. I am ordering a few items to finish it off. I have been machining for several years on a Bolton Hardware lathe, Taig lathe, 7x lathe, and LMS mini mill and have many of tools. I wanted to move to CNC for a few products I have and they are well within the specs of this machine. But my question is which size vise might work best 4" or would a 5" fit with no issues? I saw a 6" on one and far to big for my liking.
    Thank you

I bought the 6" wide te-co vise, but it will not fit between the t-slots so I have to turn the vise so it hangs off of the cross slide from left to right just like a standard knee mill. If you need I can take a photo. The vise is great but it weighs 80#. If you buy, watch for free shipping!

Thank wreckermech good to know. I had a few questions for shopmaster and here is jt answer in case anyone wants to know from them. " 4" is good- 5" is OK- 6" is pushing it to the limit" also if anyone wonders on belt sizes for spindle they are 5l 1/2" wide 900 mm length. I will be switching to linked belt when I get it. Sounds like may b next week but may take me a few days to get help to set on stand.

The distance from the R8 collet to the top of the jaws of the vise is 8.5" with the drill chuck mounted it is 5".
