My new CNC C# program, works as it should, as long as I am running from C# 2010 program, even without debug.

Then I publish it... and I get the error below. During and after trying to install the program. Even on the same computer, and on my laptop?

I am not sure why the program works so well in the development enviroment... and then not from the Release folder... or after install?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have tried to move all the .dll's over from Kmotion release to my release folder, and the two manifest files... but still the error.
Tried to run as admin.

Hi jeffserv,

I'm not sure either. But since you are using VS2010 instead of VS2008 you may need to include the VS2010 run time distributables and possibly a manifest. The ones we include in the KMotion/Release directory are for VS2008. Running from within VS2010 may somehow find the necessary installed VS2010 DLLs. You might even need both unless you re-compile our KMotion Libraries using VS2010. I'm also not familiar with what you mean by "publish".

In VS 2010 publish, is the method for deploying your application...

I am researching the dependencies, of my exe... and seeing if I find anything related. As well the idea of distributables....

Have not succeeded yet. Works perfect if ran from VS2010... just not outside the program...

I can't see a problem. Here is what I did:

#1 Fresh Install Version 4.33cc
#2 open C:\KMotion433cc\PC VC Examples\BuildExamples\BuildExamples.sln with VS2010
#3 allow the projects to be converted
#4 change to Release Config
#5 set SimpleFormsCS as startup project
#6 verify SimpleFormsCS Project Properties | Build | Output Path = C:\Kmotion433cc\KMotion\Release
#7 Rebuild SimpleFormsCS
#8 Verify C:\KMotion433cc\KMotion\Release\SimpleFormsCS.exe has new time stamp
#9 exit VS2010
#10 double click C:\KMotion433cc\KMotion\Release\SimpleFormsCS.exe
#11 runs ok!

Finally solved my problem, with running my new C# GUI external of VS2010.

Had to move into the root folder of my ".exe"... all the KMotion dll files found in the /release folder of KMotion.
Another file I had to move, was the KMotionServer.exe. Without that being in the same folder... it would always give an error,
and stop my program at the first access to the board.

After this I simply built my program into the KMotion release folder, where all these KMotion files are. Then the program would run,
outside the VS2010 host.

I now have my program Icon on my desktop... and can go on to testing what I have created.

I'm a bit confused by your reply. I thought you did not want to target your program to the KMotion\Release folder. But I never argue with success
