    Mastercam Peck Drilling

I have to drill very deep holes, up to 12 inches. I start with a 4" drill, then an 8" and finish with a 14". I would like to start the longer drills at the depth that the previous drill finished, but I can't get the peck to retract to the top of the part. For example, if I use my 4" drill to a depth of -3.5", then start my 8" drill at -3.45", my 8" drill will retract between pecks to -3.45". How can I get it to retract to 0?

    Thank for your help

What diameter of drill ? , Material ?
    Machine & Control ?

A canned cycle may not do what you want, you may have to have it output longhand
    - some later controls do have that functionality of what you are needing. But I think you are stuck with doing it longhand

If it is a HAAS machine you could try adjusting setting 52:

Thanks for your responses. Changing Setting 52 seems to be the best fix for me right now. I'm currently talking with my Mastercam distributor to add a custom drill cycle.

Use the depth of the last drill as the top of your "part", retract a small amount above that, what ever you like, and use the clearance plane option to retract out of the hole. Do this all the time. No need for custom anything.

I can suggest this configuration for drill holes capacity in drilling machines and tools.
    # Hole up to 12 to 15 inches in start
    # Attached drilling pipes
    # Drilling depths/pecks in between 3.45 to 4.12
