Hi again guys...its the little Aussie Girl back yet again with a question.

In the lasercad software it only allows you to draw SQUARE and ROUND shapes.

My question is how do i import a shape into lasercad from another source and get it to CUT..Not engrave

Im betting there is a simple answer to this....LOL

BTW..i have software such as PRINT SHOP 22....PHOTODRAW...which i use a lot

Will Lasercad import dfx files I have Laserwork and I draw in Vectric Aspire or Autocad and export as a dfx then import into laserwork I can choose scan or cut in the settings

I use CorelDraw to draw all of my designs and then export to dxf and then import the dxf to Lascad.

I have Lasercad and I use Coreldraw x5. You can do any vector or rastor work directly in CorelDraw and then, by use of a button in the taskbar, you can send it over to lasercad where you can choose to either engrave the file or cut the file. Which, by the way, is an option in laserCad.

Looks like I have no choice but to buy coreldraw x5.
But corel draw products are so overpriced for their software

Anyone got another less expensive option for software...If not then i guess im buying coreldraw x5

Ok Guys. I just purcgased corel draw x5.

Now somehow I believe I can bypass using the current Lasercad restrictive software and simply connect corel draw to my laser. I only have a baby K40 laser but I have converted it to a DSP controller...

If it is possible to use Corel Draw X5 direct...can you guys guide me on how to do it please..

I though you have squared away all your needs.
you can import all files with extension : DXF, JPEG, BMP,AI, direct in to lasercad. but with JPEG,BMP, you can only engrave because this are picture, with DXF and AI if this are line drawings you can direct import them , mark the line you wana cut change the color to one from the bottom and set the cutting parameters .

So you mean I need to uninstall lasercad as I have it active at present.
Then install Corel Draw X5 first. Then reinstall Lasercad to get Corel Draw to recognise Lasercad
Am I understanding that correctly?

Yes Thank You. But all I have at present is PHOTODRAW 2000 & Print shop 22 and neither have the facility to save as DXF or AI
So I thought it best if I invest in the Corel Draw x5 as many of you guys are using it
