Inexpensive source for NEMA 23 270oz steppers?

I need three NEMA 23 270oz steppers, and I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of inexpensive sources for them? I'd like dual shaft, as I'll be needing to use dampers.

I know it is a stretch but if I found find three for around $75 I'd be able to swing that.

I bought from Kysan with good results. $25 is a bit of a tough pricepoint though ... And shipping

Huh. Not sure which is appropriate. I have a Xylotex controller. I know I need bipolar, but I'm not sure on phase. Google says 270 oz/in is 20.69 k/cm. Any idea which one of those would be a good match?

Yeah I really need the dual shaft because I need a way to mount dampers. My machine is tiny so no room to mount them anywhere but the 2nd shaft, I don't think.

Dampers can be added to the end of leadscrews opposite the motors with the same result.

    I have these:
    NEMA23 282oz/in 3A Stepper Motor

They will give you high speed. With weak drivers like the Xylotecs, you will get a slight reduction in static torque, but that almost never matters.

Is it 270oz/in holding torque that you need? Or is this a dynamic torque requirment?

Well to be perfectly honest, maybe neither.

I had thought I needed to upgrade my motors from the original 116oz motors because of stalling problems. But after doing more research, I came to the conclusion that I may just need dampers. But I have single-shaft motors (and no room to add dampers on the screw side), so thought maybe what I needed was newer bigger motors with dual shafts to which I can add dampers.

But even more research seems to indicate that swapping out for an Automation Technologies or Gecko controller would be an even better bet.

So plans are now to save my pennies for an Automation Technologies controller and give that a spin. If I determine after this that I need larger motors, then I'll add those. But at least I'll have a controller that minimizes resonances right out of the gate.

Further update: My problems stemmed from a parallel port misbehaving. I did go with a UC100 motion controller, and it solved all my stalling problems. I can't say enough good about it.

There is a list of motors at:
    Good Unipolar Stepper Motors
Some of which have very low cost sources. E.g. you can get good motors out of old dead copier.
