    Nc/ 2 Axis/ Contour/ Cut Control/ Change Cutting Method to On.

Change Gouge Check to Single under the 2 Axis Options tab.

Create your text, practice with different fonts and sizes, truetype font is best.

When you have what you think is good, go to EDIT/TEXT/EXPLODE select [within] and box in your text, then click [DONE]....

That will turn your text into ordinary, line/circle/spline geometry, fix it up if you have to make it continuous and connected and you can machine it, probably using the pocket command......

    I hope that helps you....

I do it as Billetgrip has outlined above. Under 2 Axis options I set the Maximum feed between to 0.0000, the sort type to "None", and the gouge check to "Single". After exploding the text like machinster explained I then use NC/ 2 Axis/ Contour. Set the mask to the color of the previously exploded letters, then use Auto to let the program select the geometry. No need to fix up any non-connected entities. Each time a chain gap exceeds or overlaps a certain amount the program ask you to "end" or cancel, just hit "end" and it will continue until it selects all that you need cut. I save this tool path in the template as "Lettering". This has worked for about 20 years on just about every type of font I've tried.
