Hey folks,
I can't seem to come up with much information at all on the subject. We have a job that we would like to run a hob for to cut some gear teeth. Is there any function in Mastercam for gear hobbing?
Thanks!

Are we ding this on a lathe or mill. there is not a Gear hobbing but thread milling.

This is on a Mori NLX lathe with live tooling.
The lathe will need to have the HOB function enabled $$$$ otherwise it will not sync the Live tool and the C axis correctly, or you could 3D mill the gear
Guess I'll see if we have the function then. 3D milling isn't an option for our volumes unfortunately.
This is very similar to our setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoDkiD4T79Y
Yeah thats the one, Can't speak for Mori's but certtinally on Okuma's the hob function is an option. Normally the program is pretty simple just a few lines with the gear data
