    I'm looking for a complete list of G and M codes for an okuma osp 7000l with dual turrets

    erm, yeah. All of the G/M codes are in the back of any Okuma OSP-7000 Programming Manual......

    There should be complete list on most software support indexes, when I was in school I could request them from any machine tool manufacturer, they would always send as much information as I needed. Thanks FISHINGUY.

    yes, Okuma OSP 7000L can show relative position
    similar to the fanuc control panel
    can't tell how similar it is. X= Z= for sure

    there's no relative position screen on Okuma OSP-7000.
    You have to do stupid things like set the readout to 0 using ZERO SHIFT on the zero-set screen but if you press reset the position goes back to where it was. There is no equivalent relative position screen on OSP-7000. There are also no wear offsets. Great, isn't it....... ;-)

    well i'm talking about my piece of crap LT with OSP7000. Not sure what options yours has. The manual has no mention of a relative position so there is no relative screen showing U or W. not sure why Algirdas said it has one, he is probably trying to hide the fact that the controller lacks basic functionality that Fanuc had back in 1978 ;-)

    what I do for jaws is call up a pre-set boring bar in MDI, move it to a size I need then press reset, look at the X/Z and use that as a reference.

    Lets say I want to bore the jaws 2.5" diameter by 1" deep.
    for this method the Z workshift can be anywhere or not set it doesnt matter.
    In MDI I type...
    G0 T0101 [WRITE] [START]
    the turret will index but XZ will not move
    G0 X2.5 Z1.0 [WRITE] [START]
    The tool moves to the correct finish diameter and to Z1.0 in relation to the work zero (which is not necessarily correct for this set-up)
    I press reset there. The X and Z goes back to some other sizes.
    Say X is 3.5678 and just ignore Z. the X shown on the readout is one of my reference numbers.
    I write down the X value and that is my finish size.
    I start the chuck and touch the face of the jaws and write down the Z value.
    say it is Z6.9345
    Now I subtract 1" off the size and write that number down. that is my finish depth.... Z5.9345
    So now I have my finish X diameter and finish Z depth. X3.5678 Z5.9345
    Now just bore the jaws out manually and use those 2 numbers as the final sizes.

    Alternatively if the tool is set, re-set the work zero to the face of the jaws and write a small roughing cycle with G85+G81 and G87 so the tool cuts your exact jaw size required. you can keep that program in the machine permanently and use it whenever you need to bore the jaws.

    If you want to use the Zero Offset function, touch the tool on a known diameter or face, go to the ZERO SET screen, move the cursor to ZERO OFFSET in either X or Z, press CAL and type the known position and press WRITE.
    The readout will change to your proper size so the tool will cut size but if you press reset the size will go back to the original position. if you moved the tool away, press reset then need to go back in again and take another cut you must go back to the ZERO SET screen, move the tool to a known position and re-calibrate the ZERO OFFSET (which is a real pain in the ass).
    but then again so is everything Okuma so it's par for the course.
