    Files in Inkscape to MoshiDraw too big

    Hello everybody,

    I am running a K40 laser using the provided MoshiDraw v9.96 along with Inkscape.

    I am trying to take my .dxf file from solidworks and produce a vector image of it in InkScape and then export it to Moshi as a BMP.

    I have tried saving my dxf as a jpg file only to have it turn out as horribly as I expected. I then turned to free Inkscape thinking it would provide the vector drawing I needed. Well it does make a nice looking drawing but when I save it as any image file to send to moshi I get the response that the file is too big. I've done this in formats including PNG, BMP (exporting under File), dxf, and ai. The biggest of these files is 11KB and shouldn't be too big.

    Has anyone else had to deal with anything like this before or have any idea what I may be doing wrong?

    Re: Files in Inkscape to MoshiDraw too big

    Hi,
    I just joined to answer this post as I know how frustrating moshi can be. I have just had success exporting importing a .wmf file from inkscape to moshidraw (July 2014 version). I had to modify Inkscape and carry out the steps shown in this link;

    Good luck!
