    Current set resistors

    Hi all,
I am using the Gecko G540 and all 3 steppers are Nema 23 387ozin 3.5amp. I have read on numerous posts and in the Gecko manual that at 3.5amps I don't need to use current set resistors.
If I don't the G540 won't go into idle. The only down side of this is that the steppers will run hotter.
I can't find anywhere that states whether the increased operating temperature will be a problem. Can I safely run without current set resistors?
I can't find 3.5a resistors but I do have 3.6a ones, Is it ok to go a bit higher on the resistor value or a bit lower?
    Thanks.

3.48K should be fairly easy to locate and the current reduction will work correctly.

Ok, thanks Jeff, will go with the 3.48k.
    Cheers.
