Citizen c 16 pulls stock back awau from cutoff rool

It does not happen on every part but when ran in continuous sometimes the barstock does not stay against the cutoff tool. this gives short parts. There are dwells before and after opening main Chuck moving z1 and closing main Chuck. The bar feeder is pushing and the guide bushing is set correctly. All offsets and g50s are. Wing called and cancelled correctly. The fingers and bobbin on main Chuck assembly are fairly new. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried stopping the spindle when the collet opens or at least slow it down. Sometimes at high speeds the spindle inertia will cause the fingers to put pressure on the collet and it doesn't release properly.

    Yo

On the relay board there is a Omron relay this can be found by looking at the board and get someone to open and close the main spindle chuck
This relay sends the signal to the bar feed change it and all will be well

The SPEED you are going when you try to open the collet ALONG with how tight the collet is adjusted could make it take longer for the OPENING to complete. IF, the Z1 axis moves before the collet has released it, the stock will pull back. ALSO, cleaning the inside of the chuck sleeve and spindle will help that release happen quicker.

Is the dwell long enough before you open the collet? On our L-20s and L-25s we use a one second dwell. Does the material run freely through the open collet by hand?
