I already told you in the other thread. Choose a gear ratio that gives you between 3/4" and 1" of travel per stepper revolution. The gear ratio will depend on the size of the pinion you're using.

I'd choose the Nema 34 651oz kit, if it were me.

    thanks ger21 for your replay

the choice of the right gear may also depends on the size of motor (Nema 23 or 34) due to the max speed after reduction obtained.
i also like you suggest Nema 34 651oz specially for heavy steel gantry but i am confused about gear ratio selection

    Information about gear

    1- 5:1 ratio(90 teeth-18 teeth)
    2- 2:1 ratio (40 teeth-20 teeth)
    3- 3:1 ratio (60 teeth-20 teeth)

the pinion on the rack is 28 teeth

    60 Teeth pinion
    Teeth : 60 Teeth
    Inner hole : 10 mm
    Outside diam : 103 mm
    Wall Thickness : 35 mm
    Width : 15 mm
    Pitch : 5 M

    40 Teeth pinion
    Teeth : 40 Teeth
    Inner hole : 10 mm
    Outside diam : 70 mm
    Wall Thickness : 35 mm
    Width : 15 mm
    Pitch : 5 M

    may help

    thanks
