    Adding a scribe

Just wondering if anyone is currently running a scribe, if so what are some details of your setup? I'm looking at adding a scribe in the future but not quite sure what all is needed or if there is anything I should look out for. Thanks!

    Re: Adding a scribe

Best to get the plate marker (scribe) kit for PPLLC. It consists of :
    1: double action air cylinder.
    2, one 120VAC air solenoid
    3. Type air regulators.

The electronics are minimal. You simple plug the 120VAC solenoid into the A outlet on the controller box and run any of the SheetCAM post processors from CandCNC (MP3000 or DTHC in the name) that have "scriber" in the name. It lets you put in the scriber offsets and does all of the automatic stuff for you . All it has to do is fire the air valve and that moves the marker down and starts the engraving action.

Suggestion: Get some hearing protection if you are going to mark metal thinner than 1/4"....the sound is deafening..like a dozen drummers beating on the same cymbal !

If you want to mark center holes for drilling we have a beta POST for SheetCAM that lets you just use the torch to "peck" a spot Rather than burning all the way through
